What is PMS? We all hear women way "I have PMS", but is this a legitimate disorder or an excuse? PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome. It affects 20 to 90 percent of all women who menstruate.
I had the worst PMS last week that I've ever had in ages....When I tell you.I was angry, sad, depressed, irritable and I felt as though everything was wrong and it also seemed to me that the whole office and all my friends were on the same cycle...Dam hormones!!
I remember in my last job my department consisted of three males and myself. Poor fellas...they actually kept a calender marked off with red marker for my PMS days so that they'd know not to annoy me even though everything annoyed me at that point. There were times I would be sitting doing work and tears would be rolling down my cheeks and my co workers would come over concerned asking what was wrong and I shrugged saying.."I dunno...I'm just feeling to cry". LOL!!!!God alone knows how they managed to get used to my random mood swings but they did and I somehow found control over it to some extent. I've heard a good few remedies for PMS would be exercising, evening primrose, sex...lol ya sex...
Ladies...help me out here and lemme know what are your symptoms and what else can be used for PMS cause lord alone knows I don't mind knowing. Men, on behalf of the ladies...We reallll sorry (HUGS). Feel free to vent and let us know how you all feel during this "period" and how you all can help us help you get through it...Oh and guys..you all PMS too eh!! Jus saying...
Feel sorry for men???? why the hell for apologize??? They don't have to carry approximately gained 12 pounds extra when they decide to pop off!!!! And they don't have to pop a whole bunch of pills due to the ripping of the uterus walls!!! They don't have to constantly wear a constructed closet of clothing for each month end....Take the good with the bad and stop wimping out. If you don't like it, stay the hell off.... .... *clears throat* and that was folks ... my contribution... LUV LOTS!!! *bitching quietly in corner*
ReplyDeleteAmmmm....*covers eyes* Morgan..Are you pms-ing by chance?? LOLOLOL!! (HUGS)
ReplyDeletelol..... ass.....angry....sad....happy....ok ok... ah done...
ReplyDeleteOhh goshhh ah sorry...According to my girl Tanyadoll I'm sure there has to be a tea for this... :P
ReplyDeleteTEA NOT WOKING! lol! .... My PMS is BAD I can't even lie about it. I feel the mood swings coming on about a week before and I only wish i could be sedated throughout the period. -Mad- Crying - Angry - Crying.... *exhausted*
ReplyDeleteHowever it's most definately worse when I'm not exercising and since I've gone back to school (like a mad woman), I haven't been exercising so it's been a real pain. Thus savannah after class starting today and oh yea SEXXX is the unbeatable remedy for that shit! :p
lol, well boy i would say as a man i have grown accustom to women bitching or as you say PMS! i have grown up my entire life being around women and i was the only male in my household! twas real pressure but i have learned to deal with it....
ReplyDeleteI think the worse thing about pms is not really the pains, cause you can take some painkillers, but when the emotions flying all over...i mean if someone talk to yuh too loud the tears will start rolling. I hate that part and it last for a few days too!! All yuh know if it have a pill for that too??? :))
ReplyDeleteThing is Tanya-Marie and Wens is that I don't getany pains either but my moods are wacked!!! My friend was patting me on the shoulder last week and tears started to well up in my eyes until I had to tell her to stop cause hormones flying...LOL!! How I wish there was a pill for it but I've started back exercising today so let's see if it works :)
ReplyDeleteTo anonymous...bless your soul for "learning to deal with it yes" cause most men run when they see any signs of PMS...LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am a biatch on steroids when I'm PMSin. I think it's something we really can not control unless you take something to suppress your hormones which may frig you up so it's better to cry. Lol!!. I can tell when my periods are coming because a week before I'm ready to fight. I cry now and again but I'm usually very angry. I started to exercise and realised I was a bit less angry but more ready to cry. I get cramps like whoa and I don't take tablets so yay me!!!! Yeah I love this time of the month.
ReplyDeleteJells....ah sorry...there must be a scientist working on this hormone ting man...steupss...But the majority of us are saying basically a week before is wehn we get all angry, happy, sad, depressed and everthing in one...What a week!
ReplyDeleteThing is, most of the people I interact with on a regular basis are female...and I don't know if they're really good at dealing, but it's usually not an issue for them. And it's not that I'm oblivious I think, but it really seems like PMS does not become a factor. Go figure...
ReplyDeleteWomen really are amazing beings...Having the ability to bring forth life which is the key to the continued existence of this world.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the blessing of bearing birth has it's not so amazing moments...such as PMS....Period.... Pregnancy = 9 mths of fat gain....morning sickness....the whole 9.
But PMS is a monthly experience and its definitely not a mental thing or a cry for attention as guys think. Women go thru a plethora of emotions....and its hard to contain them, hence our bitch fits, pity parties, and ice cream and sad movies session.
It would definitely be nice if men could just cater to our emotional needs at that time as we deserve it for all the shit we endure from those selfish creatures....
Remedies - Haagen Dazs and or Hot Chocolate...comfy pajamas....a good movie with some Kleenex tissue....and some good sex after the movie.....then a peaceful sleep wrapped in the arms of ur sexy luva.
Jus sayin'
Oh gosh Kristen your remedies are the best!! WIN!!!! You should write a book about it. I think men run though...steupssssssss..Appreciate your comments though.
ReplyDeleteI think I catch a dose of pycho during PMS time, so I totally understand your predicament. Usually the first step is to get as far away as possible from the significant other, he just is going to push every angry button that you could imagine (I have wielded a cutlass in time gone by literally) I definately agree with the ice cream and hot chocolate fix. Think I use it as an excellent opportunity for ME TIME... Oh and my mom got me an old fashion hot water bottle to rest on my tummy and sleep :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really suffer from bad symptoms of PMS. I am a bit bitchy and depressed at times, but that's mainly because i'm naturally a moody person. My friends tell me i'm bi-polar, but i really don't think i'm that extreme..lol. However, i think trying to do something that might make you smile should help. Like watching one of your favourite comedy movie or listening to happy vibe music :)
